How To Use Aromatherapy Oils

It's Simple, Really: Using The Healing Properties Of Nature's Essential Oils
To Treat And Improve A Person's Health And Well Being.

Dating back to ancient times, Aromatherapy was practiced by the Egyptians, Greeks and Chinese, using infused oils and herbal preparations for medicinal, fragrance and cosmetic use.

Harnessing the power of plants and nature, the therapeutic properties of Aromatherapy were recognized and used for treating a person’s health and mind.

Fast forward to the 20th Century, when a French Chemist named Rene-Maurice Gattefosse noted that Lavender essential oil allowed for fast healing and no scarring when treating his severe burn.

There are many other intriguing essential oil stories from the past: Frankincense and Myrrh were gifted by the Wise Men because of their healing and fortifying properties, while Cleopatra seduced Marc Antony by surrounding her bed with rose petals. It worked!

Cary maintained a private practice where she utilized her blends to bring health and balance to her clients. She sits on the board of the Alliance of International Aromatherapists and will be offering continuing education classes in Aromatherapy at the University of Miami’s iCAMP program.

In the US, we have been behind the curve in understanding the power and therapeutic value of Aromatherapy and essential oils.

In fact, Aromatherapy has been recognized as a therapeutic treatment for thousands of years and is even used, today, as a medical treatment throughout much of the world, especially in Europe. The curative power of natural essential oils is undeniable, and Aromatherapy’s time has come in our own country.

How Aromatherapy Works With Your Body:

Here are the basic methods on how to use aromatherapy oils:

1. Inhalation:

When essential oils are inhaled through the nose, aromatic molecules are carried through the lining of the nasal cavity via tiny olfactory nerves, located in the roof of the inner nose, to the part of the brain called the limbic system...

Inhalation can be the most direct method of delivery for the healing components in essential oils.

Through the nasal cavity, the chemical messengers have direct access to the brain and can go straight to work on the systems that moderate the entire body.

2. Topical Application:

Then essential oils are applied to the skin, their healing components are absorbed into the bloodstream. From there they disperse to the specific organs and systems on which they work.

Whether inhaled or applied topically, essential oils can help bring about fundamental changes in physical, mental and emotional wellbeing by triggering, and strengthening our bodies’ own natural responses.

We designed our Aromatherapy essential oil blends with a combination of inhalation and application in mind for the greatest effectiveness.

The times to inhale each blend, and places to apply it, will vary based on the blend.
